Event: Live Streaming of Northern Region Post Draft STIP Consultation

The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) have been jointly spearheading formulation and consultation process for 5th National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP). 
 
The formulation process was initiated in June 2020 involving nearly 150 experts from government, academia, industry, diplomacy, policy, administration, NGOs, etc. from across the country segregated into 21 Thematic Groups (TGs). An extensive consultation process involving representatives of Science & Line Ministries, States and Union Territories (UTs), R&D organizations, academic institutions, NGOs, Civil society organizations, Industry leaders, women organizations, students, researchers and young scientists and many others, followed the initial deliberations. Subsequent meetings at the Apex Level consisting of Secretaries of Science & Line ministries; S&T Ministers and Chief Secretaries of States and UTs, and some eminent members of Indian diaspora were also held.
 
After these extensive consultations, a draft STIP was finalised and uploaded on our Centre’s website https://cpr.puchd.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/STIP_Doc_1.4_Dec2020.pdf; for public consultation until 25th January, 2021.
 
The DST, GoI desires for Centre for Policy Research at Panjab University to organise a Post-Draft STIP consultation with high-level Thought leaders, Academicians, Scientists and Industrialists from the Northern States of India to obtain their views, feedback and suggestions for improvement of the policy draft, on Thursday the 21st January 2021 from 11.00 – 13.00 hrs.
